The Research Center (RC) exerted serious efforts towards streamlining the Research, Development and Extension Program by establishing a strong and effective research program by establishing a strong and effective research program aimed to generate innovative and viable technologies useful to farmers and other clienteles. RC also helps the farmers in their quest to unite and form the Cavite Coffee Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CCGMPC). The CCGMPC is a group composed majority of coffee represented by nine municipalities in the upland area of Cavite province namely: Amadeo, Alfonso, Maragondon, Gen. Aguinaldo, Magallanes, Mendez, Tagaytay City, Silang and Naic. The more than sixty farmer-members converged for a common goal to strengthen their capacity in terms of marketing and production. They pooled their effort and resources to acquire bargaining power for their produced coffee which they sold directly in bulk and partly convert into ground coffee which they brand as “Café Montana”. Aside from the group, the university envisioned to assist the coffee traders, millers and farmers who intend to engage in coffee ground business from the upland places of Cavite.
