Palangue Agrarian Reform Cooperative

SSF For Agri-Based Food Production

In year 1993, through the R.A. No. 6657, or the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law, the municipality of Naic, Cavite was classified as one of the Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) in the province of Cavite. It was in year 1994 when the Palangue Agrarian Reform
Beneficiaries Association (PARBA) located at Brgy. Palangue 2 and 3, Naic Cavite was organized initially with seventeen members. Back in July 5, 1995, the Palangue Agrarian Reform Cooperative (PARC) was registered in Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) with 34 members whom were Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and initial capital of 21,100.00 pesos.

Since then, the members of the cooperative were able to utilize the land awarded to them by producing rice and vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, strings beans, bitter gourds, corn, eggplants and other crops. The municipalities of Naic, Silang, Tanza, Indang and Trece Martires City benefitted from farmers of this cooperative as source of vegetables for their public market. In year 2005, PARC closed a contract with Waltermart Supermarket as supplier of vegetables in consignment but due to the huge volume requirement, they were not able to sustain the market.

The Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Project of the Department of Trade and Industry aims to improve the quality and productivity of microenterprises and SMEs by addressing the gaps and bottlenecks in the value chain of priority industry clusters through the provision of processing machines/equipment for the common use of the Microenterprises and SMEs within the said industry clusters all over the country.
