Accreditation of Service and Repair Enterprises (SRE)

Under Presidential Decree No. 1572 and Republic Act No. 7394 or the Consumer Act of the Philippines, no service or repair enterprises shall be licensed or permitted to operate without first being accredited by the Department of Trade and Industry. DTI regulates Service and Repair Enterprises (SREs) in order to protect the interest of the consumers in availing their services and defend the interest of the public against unethical, unfair, and incompetent practice of SREs.

Repair and Service Firms are any business establishment engaged directly or indirectly in the repair, service or maintenance of any consumer product.

The SRE Accreditation is among the DTI services covered by the Citizen Charter.

The certificate issued by the DTI is valid for one year and must be renewed not later than January 31 of every year.
