Consumer Organization


Republic Act No. 7394, otherwise known as the Consumer Act of the Philippines, declares as basic State policy to implement measures to achieve involvement of consumer representatives in the formulation of social and economic policies. It is in this context that DTI develop and strengthen consumer organizations that would champion the welfare of the consumers. They will serve and assist in monitoring the implementation of the Consumer Act, the Price Act and other consumer-related laws, rules and regulations.

Consumer Organizations recognized by DTI are entitled for benefits such as assistance on consumer-related issues, endorsement by DTI to represent the consumers in forums, feature the COs programs at the DTI’s Website, technical assistance such as trainings conducted by DTI Cavite, provision of consumer information materials and many more.

DTI-Cavite at present has one (1) recognized consumer organization – the Cavite Metro Multi-Purpose Cooperative located in Imus City, Cavite.

Interested applicants may submit application for recognition as a local consumer organization at DTI-Cavite Provincial Office.
