Celebrating Filipino Food Month: 2025 DTI Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair Opens at SM Megamall Megatrade Halls

In celebration of Araw ng Kagitingan and Filipino Food Month, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) officially opened the 2025 DTI Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair on April 9, 2025 at the SM Megamall Megatrade Halls. President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, joined by DTI Secretary Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, and SM Prime Holdings Chairperson Tessie Sy-Coson.

A significant highlight of the event was the launch of the DTI Bagong Pilipinas Marketplace, the country’s largest B2B e-commerce platform. This initiative aims to boost wholesale transactions both locally and globally, promote partnerships, and embody the “Tatak Pinoy” brand.

In his keynote address, President Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of innovation in developing Filipino products and encouraged micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt cashless payment systems as part of the digital transformation in trade.

Also in attendance to support our MSMEs were the DTI Region 4A team led by Regional Director Marissa Argente and Assistant Regional Director Revelyn Cortez, DTI 4A Provincial Directors and DTI Cavite team headed by OIC Provincial Director Lilibeth Chavez.

Eight MSMEs from Cavite are among the proud participants, including Tubo Ko, La Noceda, Sonya’s Secret Garden, Cafe Amadeo, Project Beans, Lucky Gems Biz, Shilo 777 OPC, and Tablea Batirol—each showcasing the province’s rich food heritage and entrepreneurial spirit.

The fair ran until April 13, 2025.
